Smuggler on the Run

Rubi Ka is a capricious mistress. She feeds us and provides shelter but she also puts us through numerous trials. She also likes to surprise us when we least expect it. Surprise must have been one of the less violent feelings of a woman called "Zhere" Vryst when she appeared in front of the Newland prison gates.

According to the witnesses Ms Vryst appeared out of thin air next to a prison guard called Xuuh. All evidence points to the grid malfunction as the reason for her sudden arrival. When she realised where she was she started running which brought the guard's attention. He scanned her and discovered traces of illegal substances in her possession. The guard reported to minister Grey who offered reward for the smuggler's captor. That was the moment when the hunt began.

Over a dozen Newland citizens as well as clanspeople and Omni Tek employees began searching the whole area for the unfortunate criminal. The hunt lasted for about forty minutes. Every corner of Newland city and the surrounding Newland area was searched. To no avail at first.

Finally, an agent called Eve "Evereane" spotted the smuggler hiding under the debris of a crashed starship and brought her back to Newland. She has been rewarded by the minister for her success. The unlucky "Zhere" Vryst was escorted to prison by Xuuh.

Sometimes fate can surprise us with an unexpected turn of events. A supposed grid malfunction helped bring a criminal to justice. Let's hope this is just the first of many successes in lowering the crime rate in our city.

Smuggler Escaped!

Zhere Vryst, a smuggler who has been caught so spectacularily last Sunday has escaped. It is unclear how she managed to do that yet. Her prison cell door has been found open. There was no evidence of tampering with the lock. The prison main gate was heavily guarded and none of the guards there saw the smuggler leave nor the recordings show any people near the door at the time the escape happened.

The authorities have started an official investigation in the matter. They did not comment on the fact it is highly probable someone from the inside has helped the criminal to escape.

A spectacular success has turned into a failure in a matter of days. Such is the way of Rubi Ka. Let us hope the authorities managed to get enough information to put an end to smuggling in Newland
